Setanta anys després, Pep Coll investiga els secrets d'aquest fet esfereïdor que va marcar la seva infantesa a Pessonada. D'entrada, és una història molt semblant a la famosa matança de Kansas, novel·lada per Truman Capote, però les conseqüències del crim del Pallars van ser diametralment oposades: la premsa va oblidar el cas, i la justícia franquista no va saber, o no va voler, resoldre'l.
