La lluita política estudiantil a la universitat a finals dels anys 60 va estar marcada per Bandera Roja, una organització d'esquerres antifranquista, nascuda la tardor de 1968 amb gent de la universitat i dels sindicats estudiantils, que va arribar a ser, deixant de banda el PSUC, l'organització política clandestina amb més militants, uns 500 organitzats clandestinament i un entorn bastant nombrós, i amb els anys ha resultat ser el primer espai de socialització política d'una pila de noms que després ha tingut influència: Jordi Solé Tura, Antoni Comín, Antoni Castells, Manuel Castells, Josep Ramoneda, Teresa Eulàlia Calzada, Pere Vilanova, Ferran Mascarell, Joan Subirats, Marina Subirats, Borja de Riquer, Eulàlia Vintró, els germans Tusón i un llarguíssim etcètera. Poques persones poden explicar tan bé què va ser allò com Jordi Borja, l'autor, perquè juntament amb Jordi Solé Tura inicialment en van ser l'ànima.
