La presente publicación constituye una recopilación de artículos relacionados con la Educación Física y el Deporte, elaborados por los profesores del Área de Educación Física y Deporte del Instituto de Educación y Pedagogía de la Universidad del Valle, con motivo de la conmemoración de los 30 años del programa de Licenciatura en Educación Física y Salud y en el marco de los 60 años de la universidad. Esta compilación reúne diferentes líneas de trabajo académico del Área de Educación Física y Deporte, en la cual se abordan desde diversos enfoques algunos temas relacionados con este campo de conocimiento. Así, en esta edición se encuentran los artículos referentes a la formación de los jóvenes deportistas, deporte formativo en la educación superior, los resultados de algunos estudios en escolares y en jóvenes nadadores y futbolistas profesionales, preparación femenina en el deporte y la influencia del ejercicio físico en adultos mayores, entre otros.
