Lo que ellos, tan sensibles contaron fue estremecedor. Nadie más desprotegido que los locos, nadie más abusado que los alienados, nadie más desvalido que los enfermos mentales. La coincidencia con lo que Londres narraba su libro, a quien yo había leído recientemente. Era extraordinaria: la misma infamia, el mismo desamparo, la misma violencia, la misma orfandad la esencia de los muchos problemas que, de manera fragmentada, mis estudiantes habían encontrado en Cali, tantos años después.
