Unter dem Stichwort "Heterogenität" werden in den letzten Jahren vermehrt gesellschaftliche Veränderungen und (vermeintliche) Herausforderungen für Schule und politische Bildung diskutiert. Dieser Band greift unterschiedliche Forschungsperspektiven auf das Verhältnis von Heterogenität und politischer Bildung auf, wie sie im Frühjahr 2020 auf der GPJE-Nachwuchstagung an der Universität zu Köln diskutiert worden sind. Der erste Teil leitet mit einer theoretischen Erörterung von Heterogenität als Konzept in den Sammelband ein. Im zweiten Abschnitt wird Heterogenität entlang der Dimensionen bzw. Differenzkategorien Geschlecht, Migration und Bildung beleuchtet. Der abschließende Teil schließlich thematisiert heterogenitätssensible und -reflexive Methoden in Forschung und Unterricht. Der Band gibt damit einen vertiefenden Einblick in aktuelle nachwuchswissenschaftliche Forschungsvorhaben in der Didaktik der politischen Bildung.
