The Seven Days of Creation
Genesis 1
Genesis 1
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth
It took him six days, then he rested from his work
On day one of creation, God created light
The light he called day, and the darkness he called night
On day two of creation, God created heaven
There was much more to do before day seven
On day three of creation, he created the earth and all trees
He gathered the waters and called them the seas
On day four, God created the lights so bright
The sun to rule the day and the moon to rule the night
On the fifth day, God created the fish in the sea
He populated the waters and the birds to fly free
On day six, God created the animals and man
In his own image, he created Adam
For Adam, God created a wife named Eve
To his wife, God instructed, the husband should cleave
God looked at all his work and saw that it was good
Then he rested on day seven and taught that mankind likewise should.
The Power of Words
Proverbs 25:11, Ecclesiastes 5:2, Proverbs 18:21
Proverbs 25:11, Ecclesiastes 5:2, Proverbs 18:21
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold
A soft answer does wonders untold
It diffuses anger, calms the nerves
To make for peace is the purpose it serves
Rebuke in love, for rebuke is good
The Lord will chasten those he should
But do it in a kindly way
Pay close attention to what you say
Death and life are in the tongue
Speak life and make your words among
The best that one could hear today
As you quietly go about your way
For words can make or break a soul
They can affect your life and your future control
Words can speak to your spirit, discouraged and sore
Words can lift you up, revive and restore
Your heart should be pure; it should be right
For out of it pours the issues of life
Think on things that are lovely, things that are true
And your words will be edifying
And they will be few
Guard your heart and guard it well
For your lips will bear witness if on evil you dwell
Guard your lips and speak aright
Your words will confess that you know Christ
