Diese Chronik erhebt keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit, bietet aber einen aussagekräftigen Querschnitt der vielfältigen Friedensinitiativen in der frühen Phase des Kalten Krieges. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Kritik am Kurs der Remilitarisierung, die von der Regierung Adenauer betrieben wurde. Daneben finden noch andere friedenspolitische Aktivitäten ihre Berücksichtigung, sodass deutlich wird, dass in dem Jahrzehnt nach 1945 nicht geringe Teile der westdeutschen Bevölkerung dem Regierungskurs der Wiederbewaffnung, dem Kalten Krieg und den Atomwaffen sehr skeptisch gegenüber standen. Überdies zeigen die verschiedenen Ereignisse ein höchst lebendiges Bild der Gesellschaft jener Jahre. Berücksichtigt werden auch Friedensinitiativen in der SBZ/DDR, wenngleich das Hauptgewicht auf der BRD liegt.Dr. Karlheinz Lipp ist Historiker mit dem Schwerpunkt Historische Friedensforschung.
