The Lord is My Rock
About this book
The Lord Is My Rock came into being because of jotting down thoughts that relate to God and his plan for our salvation, the loss of a loved one, relationships, bondage, our planet, etc. Over the years, the thoughts manifested into poetry, and, as if divinely guided, include photography and drawings. The mermaid on the cover symbolizes the soul, wandering alone in the sea of life. The soul finds a rock to rest upon in order to reflect upon creation and what it has to offer, as well as, to find safety from the dangers that lurk within the darkness of the world. The rock symbolizes Jesus Christ.

Information
God and Creation

Creator
There are trees, grass, flowers, rivers, oceans, and creatures, even structures with various features.
How is it that all I see exists suspended in space? Somewhere, there must be a Creator in place.

The Crucifixion
God:
- Did the angels cry when Jesus was hanged to die?
- Did you cry when Jesus asked, “Why have you forsaken me?” during the dark sky?
- Did Jesus see us cleansed of sin so, eternally we would win?
- When the curtain tore and the land was with thunder, how high did souls soar from down under?

On the Edge
It was a few years past, my soul felt wretched.
Slipping fast, my faith was being stretched.
Standing on a ledge, I thought, “Shall I fall?”
On the edge, I asked, “Lord, is this my call?”
Wavering back and forth, torn between heaven and hell,
suddenly an angel spoke, “The Lord owns you. To this I’ll tell.”
The shepherd claims his sheep; his sheep he will always keep.
Nothing can change your destiny; Christ died for our eternity.
Regaining my balance, I walked off the ledge.
Certainly not by chance, was I no longer on the edge.

God, how can I not think of you! Fluid flowing around me. Fluid flowing through me, in everything there is you.

The Gap
I cannot cross over the gap without you.
The expanse is too wide and too deep.
Crossing over into eternity is something I must do.
I am holding on to faith, my soul you will keep.

The Holy Spirit
In the days of old, the Holy Spirit dwelt;
much like today, it is felt.
