(This is an indication of how we are to serve God... wholeheartedly)•Revelation 22: 12 which states, "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give everyman according as his work shall be." (And this is the promise of sure reward for such wholehearted service).•At God's mail. Come! PART I
Introduction
“Behold I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me” (Rev. 3:20). This is perhaps the most profound amplification of the knock of salvation which has echoed throughout the age, and it is up to everyman who will read this book to hearken to this sound, open the door, and let him in. So too, we must accept the reality that there might not be another chance to do so because “the night is far spent, the day is at hand” (Rom. 13:12).
This book is a look at the mystery of God from Genesis to Revelation with the aim of putting into perspective the things of God base on scripture with the help of the Holy Spirit. So that the man of low degree will be able to understand the wonderful works of God and his love towards us the children of men. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust and wishes that none should perish due to the lack of knowledge.
Paul said, “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits” (self-pride: having a high opinion of your own abilities; Romans 11:25). I, too, do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, lest you walk in your own ways, after your own heart or after the deceit of men. Therefore, I rejoice because we are now able to understand this “mystery which was kept secret since the world began but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever, Amen” (Rom. 16:25-27).
Now the onus is on us to seek for the understanding of the scriptures, and in this book, we are presented with the keys to the kingdom, but it is up to you to use it. Jesus gave us the keys so that we can unlock the mysteries. He said, “Woe unto you, lawyers! For, ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered” (Luke 11:52). And his people are gone into captivity because of the lack of knowledge… but he came to set the captive free.
It is so sad to know that you are in captivity and one come to set you free and has given you the key yet because of the lack of knowledge you did not know that that was the key to set you free and of such you fail to use it and might eventually die in your captivity.
Nevertheless, Behold, I give unto you the keys:
  • To the kingdom of heaven
  • To unlock the mystery of God
  • To knowledge
  • To obtain the power
  • To get the victory
  • For your salvation, and
  • To eternal life
Jesus said, “Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables” (Mark 4:11). Therefore as I share what the Lord showed me I trust that as you read and examine the word through the leading of the Holy Spirit, your eyes will be open to the things of God and this book will help you to understand what the Lord has in store for man and the world, and when you see these things begin to come to pass, then you will look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Oh, hear the word of the Lord!
The Word
The word is the voice of God, and he has been speaking to man ever since the world began. The word helps us to know God and is the most important road map in our walk with him. The Psalmist said, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee” for “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Ps. 119:11, 105). Therefore, when we listen, understand and live according to the word we will find favor with and become more like him each day.
The word of God is manifested in two ways: in speech and in action. Some may say spoken and written but to me, it is speech/spoken and action, the written word is only a record of what was said (spoken) or done (action), and the Bible is a collection of both.
The written word came about when man sought to make a record of the events that took place during time in an effort to preserve the same for us so that we can know what was said or done or will shortly come to pass. The Holy Bible is a sample of this and is one cohesive book which expresses the mind of God. In it, we can see the consistency of God, and we know that the record is true. He said, “I am the LORD, I change not” (Mal. 3:6). Therefore, God will not say or do one thing here and say or do another thing elsewhere; he is always the same in word or deed.
I mentioned earlier that the word helps us to know God, and this is seen in Jesus Christ, who is called the word (as is expressed in John 1) because he is the expression of God’s word in speech and action and he is the example of how we are to live in order to please the Father. He said, “I and my Father are one” (meaning they are united and are the same in character, speech and action). He went on to say that, “I am in the Father and the Father in me.” Meaning he is the embodiment of the Father in all things and when we see him, we see the Father also.
The writer also declared in Hebrews 13:8 that “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever.” And this tells us that as the Father is consistent even so the Son is consistent in all things.
Jesus said, “The words that I speak they are spirit and they are life”, and by these words we are clean, hence we need to understand that the spoken word is powerful, and it was this thought that caused Solomon to say that “death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Prov. 18:21).
Therefore, as we put the pieces of the puzzle together, we must remain consistent and hold to the Holy Word which can only be done through the Holy Spirit whose help we need to aid in finding the correct scheme of things.
We must possess the ability to look for ourselves and listen to the voice of the Lord as he speaks. Isaiah wrote, “Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts, for precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little and there a little” (Isa. 28:9-10). And by this we know that we have to search or study the scriptures in order to comprehend the mystery of God. Jesus said, “Search the scriptures” (John. 5:39), which means that we have to look diligently in the word with a desire to know and understand.
When we search the scriptures through the Holy Spirit, we can know the mind of God and what he wants us to do. Paul said, “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual” (1 Cor.2:11-13).
He also reminds us that “we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to naught: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory” (1 Cor. 2:6-8).
This wisdom cometh from above and by it God gave inspiration to man throughout the ages that they could put together the written word (according to 2 Tim. 3:16), but the finite mind of one man could not fully comprehend or expressed all the wisdom of the Almighty God. So for this reason he revealed himself and his word to men in different times and in different ways so that we will have no excuse if we do not believe the truth. For “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds” (Heb. 1:1-2). Therefore, once again, you are without excuse if you do not comprehend the word.
One might ask why is reading the Bible like a puzzle… The answer is in the word, in that God wanted to see if man would diligently seek after, and delight himself in Him through reading. By doing this, man would show God that he loves, wants to know, and has a relationship with him. We must note that relationships require effort, and we will know how much the relationship is worth by the amount of effort we put into it. We are encouraged to “seek ye ...
