Seit COVID-1 9 sind Mund-Nasen-Bedeckungen, ob nun als sogenannte Alltagsmasken, OP- oder FFP2- Masken im tĂ€glichen Gebrauch vieler Menschen. Bereits eine 2005 veröffentlichte Dissertation zeigte auf, dass schon nach 30 Minuten Tragedauer unter OP-Masken vermehrt CO2 zurĂŒckgeatmet wird und der CO2-Gehalt im Blut signifikant ansteigt. Die Gefahr deutlich erhöhter Konzentrationen des echten Narkotikums und Nervengifts Kohlendioxid in der Atemluft und die damit einhergehenden Symptome bis hin zu Bewusstlosigkeit und Tod sind bekannt. Dieses Buch soll fĂŒr die Gefahren sensibilisieren, die von langen Masken-Tragezeiten ausgehen können (chronische CO2-Vergiftung) und weitgehend unerforscht sind, dementsprechend in der Diskussion um die Maskenpflicht unberĂŒcksichtigt bleiben. Dabei lassen die bekannten SchĂ€digungen durch andere Nervengifte wie Kohlenmonoxid oder Alkohol bei chronischer Vergiftung oder auch die bisher unerklĂ€rten postoperativen kognitiven Defizite (POCD) vermuten, dass Ă€hnliche Gefahren von einer chronischen CO2-Vergiftung ausgehen können, womöglich mit besonders gravierenden Konsequenzen fĂŒr Kinder.
