L'être humain n'est pas à lui-même la source de son désir. Celui-ci lui vient par imitation. Effets miroirs ou imitations d'un double ou d'un médiateur, c'est le fil rouge qui relierait non seulement les dix films qui composent le Décalogue, mais aussi les autres créations de Kieslowski.
