Revelation Abridged

Commentary Improving Daily Life

About this book

This abridged commentary takes a highlighter to the whole book of Revelation--like preparing for a school examination. These highlighted words provide practical means for understanding the main points of God's words in improving daily life. From complexity comes simplicity and elegance of the seven visions of Revelation. Discover that the vision of Moses' Tabernacle parallels the Lord's Prayer; the vision of the Holy City parallels the Seven Days of Creation; the vision of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse matches the vision of the Four Hallelujahs; the vision of the Trumpets of Justice matches the vision of the Bowls of Mercy; then climatically the middle Arch Keystone, vision four, marks all of God's creation as innocent perfection.Supporting interfaith quotes come from the Jewish Tanakh, the Islamic Quran, and the Christian New Testament. So, instead of trying to understand geo-political battlefields and theological labyrinths, just sit back and contemplate a few clarified phrases from each of the seven major visions. See also how the shepherd's Psalm 23 aligns as an uncomplicated summary of these seven visions. From this new nondenominational viewpoint the book of Revelation becomes practical, an archway to bring more peace to daily experience.

Introduction

(Rev. 1:11:18)

I) Revealing (God, Christ, Spirit, Servants)

(find in your Bible these words see Rev. 1:1, 2)
The Revelation ~The Revealing
Christ, God, Servants, Things To Come
Things To Come is liken to the Holy Ghost. “That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.” (II Timothy 1:14). “ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.” (I John 2:20).
Christ and God combined with the Holy Ghost, gives rise to the Trinity. Because in monotheism there are no Gods many, this must be a Tri-Unity.
Servants equate to something many do not accept as holy—us! But here it is plain that God’s children shall not be left out of Revelation’s revealing. “What is man, that thou art mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:4). “he kept him as the apple of his eye.” (Deuteronomy 32:10). But is this apple of his eye the corporeal Adam? No. Revelation endorses the incorporeal: Prayerful servants in patient service.
Unfortunately modern society endorses selfhood—becoming famous, wealthy, and powerful. Personal centeredness is the modern mantra. Yet everyone is complaining, wanting better “service.”
Even the Exemplar’s golden rule demands better service. “whatsoever ye would that men should do to you: do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12). Howbeit if one fails to bless others, life will contain little joy. If one serves, one blesses. “wrong not, and ye shall not be wronged.” (2:279). “thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself:” (Leviticus 19:18).
Ask yourself, what good deed did I do today toward someone else? It costs nothing to let someone feel appreciated. Does not being a holy Servant demonstrate on earth the Divine Word, the Christ, and the Holy Spirit? This foursome Servant(s), God, Christ, Holy Ghost reveals a superstructure, all good, and without evil.

II) Blessing (Study, Contemplate, Practice)

(find in your Bible these words see Rev. 1:3)
readeth ~Study hear ~Contemplate keep ~Practice
Blessed is he that studies, contemplates, and practices Revelation.
Study: Paramount whether in art or science. One cannot excel without it. Study is activity in reasoning, the springboard for any endeavor. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (II Timothy 2:15). But study alone falls short of success.
Contemplate: Attune beyond the technical, to where meditative reflection reaches inspiration. Contemplation overcomes the clinical and fulfills heart and soul. The highest form of listening is communing with the mental hieroglyphs from the nature of the universe. “in his law doth he meditate day and night.” (Psalm 1:2).
Practice: Study and Contemplation escorts us into Practice. Here reason and inspiration are demonstrated. Mentors constantly advise practice. Practice, and more practice is required to improve. Be humble in the doing and in being corrected. Practice is not talking and telling, it is reason and inspiration demonstrated. “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do:” (Philippians 4:9).
Think this is all too hard? Well then if one is not striving to be a better asset to the world, then one is by default dragging it down. What one tends to do is what one is. But anyone can reverse any stumbling. “submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee fro...
