Notfallseelsorge ist in Deutschland bekannt. Doch stellt sich bei genauer Betrachtung heraus, dass es zu ihr kaum pastorale Grundlegungen gibt.Die Situation, in der sich die katholische Kirche befindet, erlaubt aber weder nach innen noch nach außen unreflektiertes Handeln. Sie unterliegt einem soziografischen Wandel mit personellen und finanziellen Umbrüchen und steht insgesamt vor neuen pastoralen Herausforderungen.Das ist Anlass, die theologischen und diakonischen Grundlagen der Notfallseelsorge im Rahmen kirchlichen Handelns und als Beitrag zu einem verantworteten Dialog mit anderen Einrichtungen und Wissenschaften der Notfallhilfe zu entfalten.
