Was will man denn feststellen? – etwas, das im Augenblick des Geschehens selbst nicht 'feststand?' -" Mag alles Geschehen auch eine Vorgeschichte haben, so ereignet es sich im Augenblick des Geschehens gleichsam von vorn. Die Zeit erscheint uneinholbar wie das Geschehene unwiderrufbar. Darin korrespondiert die Zeitauffassung des 20. Jahrhunderts, wie sie etwas im Werk Franz Kafkas und Zygmunt Haupts zum Ausdruck gelangt, mit dem Zeitbegriff der christlichen Apokalyptik: Sie deutet das Zeitgeschehen vom Ende her bzw. auf das Ende hin – im Lichte der Vollendung.
