About This Book

El presente volumen de Centroamericana tiene, como origen, la participación de algunos miembros de la Cátedra de Lengua y Literatura Española e Hispanoamericana de la Universidad Católica del Sagrado Corazón al proyecto Connected worlds: the Caribbean, origin of modern world, financiado por la Unión Europea a través del programa Horizon 2020: Marie Sk?odowska-Curie. El proyecto se propone realizar una investigación transdisciplinaria sobre la esclavitud de los africanos en el Caribe y trata de demostrar que ese hecho histórico es fundamental para la construcción de la modernidad occidental. Por lo tanto, abarca diferentes partes del globo. Aparte de ese núcleo fuerte y central, el proyecto se propone unir esfuerzos entre investigadores europeos y latinoamericanos a través de un denso intercambio de estudios e informaciones, seminarios, estancias de estudios y publicaciones. Lo dirige la Dra. Consuelo Naranjo Orovio, desde el CSIC de España, y lo componen más de 84 participantes de diferente nacionalidad.
