Spiritual Warfare with the Saints
About this book
Christian writer, C.S. Lewis once made the point that people tend to either obsess over demons or deny their existence entirely-and the devil is equally pleased either way. The Bible is clear. Our battle is not with flesh and blood but with spiritual forces (Eph. 6:12). At the same time, however, the Bible makes it clear that the evil forces, devils and demons, are powerless in comparison to God. If God is for us, who can be against us? Even the demons shudder in the presence of God (James 2:19).

Information
A Prayer from St. Patrick
One of the most common prescriptions a priest might recommend during times of spiritual warfare is to pray the Morning Prayer of Saint Patrick, also known as St. Patrickās Breastplate. The latter refers to Paulās reference to the ābreastplate of righteousnessā as it was a crucial part of Godās armor and could withstand spiritual assaults.
A Prayer from St. Patrick
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven;
Light of the sun,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of the wind,
Depth of the sea,
Stability of the earth,
Firmness of the rock.
I arise today
Through Godās strength to pilot me;
Godās might to uphold me,
Godās wisdom to guide me,
Godās eye to look before me,
Godās ear to hear me,
Godās word to speak for me,
Godās hand to guard me,
Godās way to lie before me,
Godās shield to protect me,
Godās hosts to save me
Afar and anear,
Alone or in a multitude.
Christ shield me today
Against wounding
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit do...
