TO put the subject of Creation, Noah, and the flood in perspective, we shall first take a short tour through the subject of origins from a biblical standpoint. First, materialists tell us the earth self-formed billions of years ago after a mass of gas and dust self-collected in space. Further, they propose these loose particles assembled into all the perfect spheres of our solar system, creating the special planet we inhabit today. After these sphere -forming events, the substances supposedly self-sorted again, forming the oceans, rivers, lakes, and land masses we observe and enjoy now, all by unguided means.

Like the earth, evolution also claims life self-formed from dead chemicals. This theory suggests life of every variety sprang forth by chemical accidents over great eons of time. All agree these biochemical agents had no prior existence. The simplest life form (the evolutionist tells us) is the bacteria, presently known to be entirely complex and far from simple, along the way somehow activating into a living thing. The evolutionist also claims (without any outside assistance) that life bloomed into the plethora of forms we see today completely by accident. Moreover, they claim the origin of DNA and its coding came about by random means, the common mechanism proposed being time and unexplainable chemistry—time capable of creating anything biological or material without guidance.

To the contrary, we now know DNA is an independent entity within the cell, incorporating millions of correctly ordered chemicals in tape form. DNA is understood to be the most compact data storage system in the known universe. DNA is designed with the intent to remotely control the moment-by-moment operation of the cell machine. Further, this compound is the common denominator of all life; change the DNA in a given cell, and you change the life form, like switching programs on your computer. Compounding the problem for accidental origin, we have the cell exactly duplicating all this data and biomachinery in seconds, leaving us with only one logical solution to explain these complexities—that of intelligence, not intelligence measured by IQ, but from the brain of the creator that designed thinking in the first place, allowing man to have consciousness and comprehension of the matter.

Man and all his laboratories find such operations impossible to replicate, so a new term has been coined to describe the origin of such capability: that is Super-Intelligence. The DNA and the cell mechanisms so directed must have evolved (if evolution is true) in perfect parallel for a cell to operate, a mathematical impossibility. Such makes the evolutionary explanation illogical. To defy mathematics and believe in the impossible, one must embrace a faith that these things occurred by chance, without any assistance. In support of creation by a deity, we must not forget that DNA instructional commands use the same language convention in all living things and have so since the beginning of biological time. These systems need no perfecting today, so how did evolution mindlessly form them without a succession of trial and error? The atheist maintains the DNA developed through a multiple sequence of accident and chance processes, but how and when did such processes occur, since they have never been observed changing nor become more efficient since the beginning? Cell operation is now and has always been in stasis, operating with near perfection billions of times daily. If we have an engineer and a factory, each must communicate to function. This is referred to as a language convention. A computer has a language convention (like DOS or Mac), and none of us would expect them to have come about by accidents, but this is exactly what the evolutionist asks one to believe—and not only this, but such complexity magically appeared! (Note that late-breaking research has determined that DNA actually uses two unrelated codes superimposed one on the other, called duons, allowing more data to be transcribed into a single section.¹)

For software and hardware to operate together as in computers, no one would dispute that each require intelligence acting on matter to function. One then must ask, If evolution has been so prolific in life creation, why the basic mechanisms of DNA and all other cellular components have no known ancestral precursor? We know animals change and adapt—this is called microevolution. The Creator designed DNA with variability to allow for such adaptations as the environment changes. This self-change capability has boundaries (like crossbreeding) and is an amazing design feature, not the result of chance. Gene variability is incapable of transitioning a worm into a trilobite or an ape into a man. Each kind employs a separate DNA program. By experience, accidents make nothing; this law also holds true concerning the complex world of biologic origins as well. So on the strength of reason and logic, evolution is impossible; its a belief system based on faith not science.

Chimp-Human Non-Similarity

Most everyone has heard of Australopithecus Aphaeresis, or “Lucy,” a small orangutan-type creature unearthed by Dr. Donald Johansson in the 1970s. Heralded by the media and science institutions as the last and final link between man and ape, few heard that Johansson (after intense cross-examination by his peers)² finally admitted to adding parts (knee joints)* to his box of bones, they found in a completely different location! This was vital because Lucy needed a knee and hip that was near human to be an upright walker, so factually she was a two-for-one construction. The creature also needed straight appendages (hers were curved like monkeys), shorter arms, a larger skull, a different pelvis and a hundred other changes. It turns out Lucy was simply another species of orangutan or baboon, yet made it into the papers, textbooks, museums and minds of millions as proof of evolution, the “missing-link” between ape and man.

A close relationship between man and ape DNA code matter has been lately advocated, comparing billions of codon sections (or letters) using a percentage factor where 1 percent of 3 billion codons equals 3 million differences—no small sum. Late reports claim the gap between man and apes is 1-1.5 percent.³ But other studies report this gap is much wider, closer to 6 percent or larger.⁴ 2014 and 2017 investigations of the human sequence conducted by Brian Thomas, Drs. Nathaniel Jeanson and Jeffery Tomkins⁵ of The Institute for Creation Research determined that early Human Genome project administrators had compared known similar gene sections, sometimes leaving out the DNA sections unique to man, throwing the results. In addition, other research showed that human DNA had contaminated the chimp samples, possibly introduced by lab technicians. Parts of these sections differing from chimps are found to be equivalent to twenty 500 page books of human-specific information. The ICR study comparing the entire human genome determined that the difference is actually around 450,000,000 codons or closer to 15-19 percent!⁶

Note the August 2015 issue of Scientific American ran an article adhering to the 1 percent Man/Ape dissimilarity figure, just in time for students entering school that year. Interestingly enough, in 2006 the same periodical published an article suggesting a gap of 6 percent, a figure that was never refuted!⁶*

A final note on DNA comparisons: a banana contains approximately 55 percent of human DNA and a cow said to have 80 percent—so much for comparisons! All man’s efforts fall short to construct even a cell of grass, and if somehow such was accomplished, we could expect the effort to cost millions and employ teams of scientists working tirelessly around the clock, thus effecting intelligence on matter, like God!

Our Damsel hoping to nab a prince in the fairytale is little different than the evolutionist: in the storybook; “poof” she gets her man, but if the transformation takes 500 million years we call it “science.”

Junk DNA, Fusion and Adam and Eve

Surprisingly, the percentage of DNA that codes to create the living parts of things is quite small compared with the remainder used for other purposes. Leading evolution proponents such as standing NIH (National Institutes of Health) Director Francis Collins, Professor John C. Avise, and radical anti-creation skeptic Richard Dawkins (that propose human/ ape ancestry) argue this noncoding DNA material is unused and therefore supports evolutionary randomness, not the work of a wise creator. These evolutionists assert that the existence of such material suggests mindless eons of mutational mistakes, leaving a variety of random genetic material as “proof” of evolution and great periods of time. On the contrary, research shows “noncoding” DNA material has many important functions, and is not “junk” at all. Such has now been found to perform many important life processes, including of late-heart development!
