Ibiza Town & Around

The island’s heart and soul, Ibiza Town (Eivissa) is a vivacious, stylish and elegant capital with a magical, fortified World Heritage–listed old quarter topped by a castle and cathedral, all set against leafy squares, whitewashed lanes, fascinating museums and a spectacular natural harbour. It’s also a shopaholic’s dream, a hedonist’s paradise and a world-famous party destination, home to some of the globe’s glitziest megaclubs.

Plaça des Parc and Passeig de Vara de Rey are perfect spots to linger over a quintessential Ibizan breakfast before meandering up into the historic, World Heritage–listed Dalt Vila, exploring its museums, viewpoints, ramparts and cathedral.

Ibiza Town at night is something to behold. Depending on your mood, wander around the Port Area, dine at a sensational restaurant or bar-hop your way through packed-out Carrer de la Verge, Ibiza’s LGBT village, before hitting a megaclub.

Top ExperienceDalt Vila

Its formidable 16th-century bastions visible from across southern Ibiza, Dalt Vila is a fortified hilltop first settled by the Phoenicans then occupied by a roster of subsequent civilisations. Many of its tranquil, cobbled, atmospheric lanes are accessible only on foot. It’s mostly residential, but contains moody medieval mansions and several key cultural sights. All lanes lead to the cathedral-topped summit.
