What is Somatic Presence?

Command of physical posture and gesture/verbal pace and tone.
Projecting your voice with confidence, awareness of posture and adapting your stance to meet the situation. Voice, face, body and words are congruent. Feeling physically energised when standing in front of a group or working one on one with someone.

Somatic Presence in Action
Somatic Presence is grounded in the physical body, and itā€™s all about being clear and congruent. It requires us to match our voice, pace, tone, posture and message so that we are communicating one thing with no confusion.
In 1941 Professor Albert Mehrabian published a book on body language entitled ā€œSilent Messagesā€, reviewing his research into non-verbal communication. He combined the statistical results of the two studies and came up with the now famousā€”and slightly erroneousā€”rule that communication is only 7 percent verbal and 93 percent non-verbal. The non-verbal component was made up of tone of voice (38 percent) and body language (55 percent). Why is this not quite the right rule? Itā€™s because...
