Este libro, enmarcado en el contexto nacional y provincial del modelo agroexportador y el proceso de desarrollo industrial por sustitución de importaciones, está dedicado al estudio del servicio público de electricidad en la localidad de Pozo del Molle y zona de influencia desde 1920, fecha en la que en el pueblo se introduce uno de los adelantos más importantes de la segunda fase de la Revolución Industrial: la electricidad. Se pone énfasis a la acción desplegada por la cooperativa eléctrica constituida en 1957 hasta que logra concretar el sueño de tener el edificio propio. Se tiene en cuenta el surgimiento y evolución de la entidad, la política energética provincial y la movilización de los vecinos impulsados por la necesidad de mejorar la calidad del servicio eléctrico en un período en que el pueblo experimentaba un importante crecimiento poblacional y de sus actividades económicas relacionadas al sector industrial; sus estatutos sociales; el marco regulatorio provincial y local al que estaba sujeta la entidad; sus relaciones con el poder municipal; el apoyo externo a través del asesoramiento y créditos brindados; el accionar de las sucesivas comisiones directivas y la administración de los recursos; el desarrollo logrado desde el punto de vista técnico y edilicio; el aporte de los socios para el buen funcionamiento del servicio eléctrico y el proceso de incorporación de asociados y los conflictos políticos experimentados por la localidad que se vieron reflejados en la entidad.
