E' possibile narrare il contatto uomo-mondo? E' possibile raccontare la loro "carne" comune, l'elemento in cui avviene la percezione, secondo l'inedita nozione elaborata da Merleau-Ponty alla ricerca di una nuova ontologia? Il poeta e il narratore sono i cantori del mondo, i soli capaci di farci intuire, come Proust, i rapporti tra visibile e invisibile? Sono queste le domande a cui si è cercato di dare una risposta, attraversando l'opera di due grandi scrittori del '900 che hanno fatto della percezione e della memoria le dimensioni privilegiate della loro inesauribile esplorazione del reale: Claude Simon, Premio Nobel nel 1985, vicino alle concezioni estetiche del nouveau roman, anche se non del tutto assimilabile ad esso; Juan JosÊ Saer, uno degli autori piÚ interessanti della letteratura argentina del dopoguerra, vissuto molti anni in Francia a partire dal 1968, ma ancora poco conosciuto in Italia. Questo libro offre una nuova proposta interpretativa dell'opera saeriana, a partire dalla pista indicata dallo stesso scrittore argentino, che non mancò di esprimere il suo forte interesse per la fenomenologia di Merleau-Ponty.
