Si partimos del supuesto que tanto la escuela como la asignatura de la Historia han constituido espacios privilegiados en los procesos de transmisión del pasado y en el establecimiento de los sentidos del mismo, cabe preguntarse si es que las luchas por la memoria del pasado dictatorial se han manifestado en la escuela y cómo lo han hecho. Por lo tanto, el presente libro parte de las siguientes preguntas: ¿cuáles fueron las representaciones de la última dictadura militar que circularon desde la redemocratización del país en la enseñanza de la historia? ¿Con qué selecciones del pasado lo hicieron? ¿Por qué? En definitiva, ¿cuáles son los procesos que llevaron a establecer algunas representaciones posdictatoriales como dominantes por sobre otras en distintos momentos? A partir de estas preguntas, en este original trabajo se analizan las representaciones de la dictadura militar argentina que circularon en la enseñanza de la historia en las escuelas medias Argentina, un tema poco explorado en los estudios sobre la última dictadura militar y sus secuelas en nuestro país.
