La medusa, el mono y la marioneta estudia la genealogia discursiva del peronismo a traves de la lectura minuciosa de textos de Eva Peron, Borges, Cortazar, Walsh, Erminda Duarte, Pedro Ara, Copi y T.E. Martinez. Mediante la unificacion de tres componentes teoricos--lo politico, lo sagrado y lo erotico--con base en la teologia politica de Carl Schmitt, la metapsicologia de Freud y las ideas sobre la violencia y lo sagrado de Rene Girard, el libro expone las articulaciones contingentes del peronismo en polemica con su adversario politico, el liberalismo. El analisis introduce varios conceptos originales, como la teratologia politica, la imputreficcion y la soberania prostetica, que iluminan discusiones de larga data sobre la cultura nacional, la tendencia necrofilica o la obsesion por el cuerpo embalsamado de Evita al revelar la condensacion libidinal de la identidad politica en el cuerpo o cadaver soberano, sitio de sacrificio, dolor y fetichismo.
