Per quali ragioni gli storici continuano a difendere teorie che stanno mostrando tutta la loro fragilità ? Grazie all'appassionato lavoro di un team di ricercatori, proprio in Sardegna, a partire dal 2013, sono state rinvenute le tracce di un evento finora solo ipotizzato: la caduta di meteoriti nel Mediterraneo. E proprio a questo evento catastrofico si dovrebbe imputare il violento megatsunami che avrebbe distrutto la civiltà intorno al 9700 a.C., data in cui Platone colloca la fine di Atlantide. Un'isola a occidente dell'Egitto. Un'isola che sembra essere proprio la Sardegna. Con dovizia di particolari, testimonianze archeologiche e scientifiche, gli autori delineano uno scenario che cambia per sempre il volto della storia.
