Beiden war die religiöse Dimension wichtig, auch wenn sie sich im Gottesverständnis deutlich unterschieden - ebenso wie in der Beurteilung des Nationalsozialismus in den frühen 1930er Jahren.In einem ersten Teil erläutert Marianne Jehle-Wildberger die Diskussion um die Therapie von Menschen in psychischen Notsituationen im Umfeld Jungs. Keller, dem die traditionelle Seelsorge als Hilfe für psychisch belastete Menschen nicht genügte, lernte vom Psychiater viel über das Unbewusste und die Traumdeutung. Der zweite Teil besteht aus dem bisher unbekannten Altersbriefwechsel zwischen Jung und Keller. Dabei geht es um einen zentralen Traum Kellers, um Jungs Buch 'Antwort auf Hiob' (1952) und die Gottesfrage sowie um das Verhältnis von Theologie und Psychologie.Das Buch gibt einen spannenden Einblick in die lebenslange Freundschaft zweier ungleicher Persönlichkeiten.
