Your country needs your help, not physically or monetarily but intellectually. The attacks of 9/11 required the physical volunteering of many young, concerned citizens to defend the nation. And volunteering they did, even though many of them returned in body bags and as mutilated bodies in huge numbers.

Now we have a different threat, a threat that destroys our country from the inside out. Now it's your turn to help and heal the country and decrease the race, religion, and national origin biases. So everybody can be part of it. But more so, you can help define and provide solutions to our nation's problems. If you are like most US citizens, you must be concerned about our country's direction. We spend trillions of dollars on questionable public initiatives and expect future generations to pay the bills. We have college graduates with thousands of dollars in debt and virtually no job prospects. We have structural budget deficits and trade deficits. We collect record tax revenues but are unable to cover our expenses. And the list goes on and on! We have a political establishment on both sides of the aisle that fights for power and not for the people who elected them. That said, if you are a conservative or progressive, young or old, gay or straight, Black or White, male or female, or any other classification you might fall into, the book Dreaming of Nirvana or the Next Peaceful Revolution is for you. It addresses the nation's most pressing problems and offers viable solutions as a starting point for a nationwide discussion. You can be part of it by contributing your ideas and bringing our country back to sanity.

Abstract

The book tries to accommodate the fast reader with little time to spare by highlighting keywords and critical sentences and providing room for notes.

Dreaming of Nirvana or the Next Peaceful Revolution is a book about harnessing the private sector’s full power. It is about transformative solutions. Solutions capable of addressing the United States’ most significant fiscal and social problems.

The book attempts to map out a pathway toward fiscal and social sanity.

Alternatively, our generation can continue to embrace fiscal and social insanity and burden future generations with our irresponsible legacy gifts.

It does so by establishing control over all aspects of the private sector, and in doing so, it will elevate the private sector to be on par with the public sector.

The book sets the stage with a review of the current political and social environment—in particular, the Trump presidency, COVID-19, and the variety of responses to both events.

The book recognizes that both the public and private sectors are intertwined, complex, and interdependent in a one-way sort of way. Unfortunately, the public sector controls and manipulates the private sector to no small degree, primarily as a function of what party is in charge. Principally, there is no recourse for the private sector.

Being agile and flexible, the private sector optimizes under suboptimal, external conditions. What happens if we run out of agility and flexibility?

Given this dismal background, the book contends that the proposed solution, forming an umbrella organization for the private sector, will establish parity between both sectors and act as a catalyst for many needed solutions.

While the umbrella organization is the key, the book suggests forming a viable third party, the Independent Party, to answer many political problems.
