Oder schafft vielleicht gerade Schillers ästhetische Philosophie einen Rahmen, in dem wir das Politische neu begreifen können? Mit der Betrachtung von 27 theoretischen Schriften wird erstmals versucht, Schillers Philosophie umfassend für die politische Theorie zu erschließen. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse bieten Bezugspunkte zu anderen politischen Denkern – so etwa zu Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Ralf Dahrendorf (und anderen Denkern der 'liberalen Bürgergesellschaft'), Carl Schmitt und Herbert Marcuse.Es handelt sich hier um eine an der Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität Potsdam eingereichte, mit "magna cum laude" ausgezeichnete Dissertation. Sie wurde dafür gelobt, auch komplexe Sachverhalte eindeutig und gut lesbar darzustellen. Als potentieller Standardtext für die Politikwissenschaft ist sie aufgrund ihrer eigenständigen Herangehensweise ist sie zugleich auch für Literaturwissenschaft und Philosophie von Interesse.
