Systemin, frei. Diese Prozessierung konnte durch gerichtete Mutagenese an den beiden kritischen Aspartat-Resten unterdrĂŒckt werden. Des Weiteren konnte gezeigt werden, dassdurch Applikation des mutierten Prosystemin die systemische Wundantwort nicht ausgelöst werden kann und die beiden Aspartat-Reste daher fĂŒr die Reifung von Prosystemin essentiell sind. Um die Beteiligung von SlPhyt 2 an der Wundantwort in vivo zu untersuchen, wurden transgene SlPhyt 2 ĂŒberexprimierende Linien und "knock-down" Linien erstellt. Es konnte kein Zusammenhang zwischen der Aktivierung der Wundantwort und dem Expressionspiegel von SlPhyt 2 festgestellt werden. Damit ist eine Beteiligung von SlPhyt 2 an der Freisetzung von Systemin in vivo unwahrscheinlich. Allerdings war die Überlebensrate von Spodoptera exigua Larven auf SlPhyt 2 ĂŒberexprimierenden Pflanzen etwas erniedrigt.
