Die beruflichen Belastungen und gesundheitlichen Beanspruchungen von Lehrkräften und damit verbundene gesundheitsbedingte Frühpensionierungen werden seit einigen Jahren verstärkt in der Forschung thematisiert (z.B. Schaarschmidt, 2005; Hillert & Schmitz, 2004; Rothland, 2013; Bauer et al., 2007). Die Gesundheit und Leistungsfähigkeit von Lehrkräften sind essentiell für die Qualität von Schule und müssen erhalten und gefördert werden. Eine wichtige Aufgabe besteht darin, berufliche Gesundheitsressourcen von Lehrkräften genauer zu erforschen, um Schule zu einem gesundheitsförderlichen Ort des Lebens und Lernens – einer "guten gesunden Schule" (Brägger, Paulus & Posse, 2005) – zu machen. Diese Arbeit untersucht eine bisher wenig beachtete potenzielle Ressource der Gesundheitsförderung in der Organisation Schule, das affektive Commitment (AC) – die emotionale Bindung von Lehrkräften an ihre Schule. Ziel der Studie ist es, Erkenntnisse darüber zu gewinnen, welchen Einfluss diese Bindung auf die Gesundheit und das Wohlbefinden der Lehrkräfte hat bzw. welche Wirkzusammenhänge zwischen AC und Lehrergesundheit bestehen. Zu dieser Fragestellung herrscht ein Forschungsdefizit.
