Konventionelle Behandlungsmethoden der Krebstherapie gehen noch immer mit starken Nebenwirkungen einher und zeigen hƤufig nur begrenzte EffektivitƤt. Auf der Suche nach Cisplatin-Abkƶmmlingen mit verbessertem Nebenwirkungsprofil wurden im Rahmen dieser Arbeit neuartige Platinkomplexe sowie einkernige Goldkomplexe untersucht. Weiterhin wurden wasserdispersible ?-SnWO4 Nanopartikel auf ihre selektive Induzierbarkeit und ihre Eignung als Photosensitizer zum Einsatz in der Photodynamischen Therapie evaluiert. In einem anderen Ansatz wurden metallbasierte Nanocontainer aus AlO(OH) und Gd2(CO3)3 mit einem vielfach verwendeten Chemotherapeutikum, Doxorubicin, beladen und auf ihre Eignung als Drug Delivery System untersucht. Komplexere Systeme, welche der Kombination verschiedener therapeutischer AnsƤtze dienen, sind ebenfalls Gegenstand dieser Arbeit.
