LEARNING TIPS
To help yourself to use this course as effectively as possible, follow this study guide (and adapt it to suit your own learning patterns as you go along, if you wish):
1 Listen to or read the Dialogues once or twice (listen without the book first of all, if you have the recording).
2 Go over each one bit by bit in conjunction with the Key words. Do the same for each of the Key words that has no accompanying dialogue.
3 Use the Learning tips to help you remember the Key words.
4 Study the Language notes and Word patterns as these give you information that you will use over and over again later.
5 Do the Exercises and the Test yourself exercise if there is one at the end of the unit; check your answers in the Key to the exercises at the end of the book.
Insight
Donât try to do too much at once! Most people find they learn better if they study for short periods e.g. 20 minutes or take frequent breaks. After your break try to recall what you learned last! It will help to âfixâ it in your long-term memory.
