About this book

Le présent volume complète le premier tome de cette édition du Nouveau Testament de Lyon (2009, Romanica Helvetica 128). Il fournit une analyse approfondie de la langue du texte (grapho-phonématique et morpho-syntaxe), un Glossaire copieux et ouvrant des perspectives sur la lexicologie, ainsi qu'un Index des noms complet. Les traits caractéristiques de cette traduction de la Vulgate remontant à la deuxième moitié du 13e siècle renvoient pour la plupart à la partie ouest du Languedoc, une précision ultérieure n'est pas recommandable, étant donné que nous n'avons pas affaire à un dialecte, mais à une scripta qui reprend des éléments d'un peu partout dans cette région. Il existe cependant aussi quelques traces d'une influence gasconne et béarnaise, ainsi qu'un nombre restreint de témoins qui semblent provenir des vallées vaudoises ou de l'Italie septentrionale. Ceci s'explique éventuellement par le fait que le texte (ou quelques-unes de ses parties) a voyagé à l'intérieur du domaine cathare.
