This short Manual of the Altar Sodalitium is a guide for those who wish to know at least a little about the liturgy of the Church of England. In it are pointed out the main elements that make up the altar fellowship, as the title says. It is not, of course, a treatise on liturgy, nor does it exhaust all the possibilities of using these sacred elements used by the Church of England.
The glossary also gives the reader a good idea of the main terms so that people can become familiar with the names consecrated by the tradition. Much of what Anglicans use is shared with other Christian traditions. The Handbook also shows one way of being Anglican through the prayers provided.
It is up to the reader to choose how they learn about the forms of worshipping the Lord that suits them best. Happy reading!

The Threads of the Altar
β The Corporal
It symbolises the linen cloths which wrapped the body of Our Lord in the tomb. The corporal is folded with the right side inwards, in nine folds, forming a square. It is carried in the pouch with the veil and kept in it until it is washed. The instructions for the use of the corporal are intended to instil reverence, for folded in this way, it is possible to gather any particle of the Blessed Sacrament that happens to fall on it. The corporal is to be carefully washed and the water used is to be thrown on the ground. The corporal should be 46 cm or 54 cm tall.

β The Cleanser
ββββββββ
This is the fine linen napkin used to clean the chalice. The purifier is used only once and then washed, and the water is then thrown on the earth. It is folded into nine squares with the right side out. When the chalice is prepared, the purifier should be folded lengthwise over it, under the paten, its folds falling over the sides of the chalice, not in front of it. The cleanser should be 28 cm or 33 cm tall.
