Das Buch "Das Siegthal" erschien erstmals 1865. Im Jahre 1857 wurde der Bau der Bahnstrecke im Siegtal begonnen. 1861 wurde sie fertig gestellt. Damit waren viele Orte im Siegtal erstmals einfach erreichbar. Der Tourismus nahm Fahrt auf. Ernst Weyden veröffentlichte sein Buch ĂŒber das Siegtal 1865, also kurz nach der Fertigstellung der Bahnstrecke. Es dĂŒrfte der erste ReisefĂŒhrer fĂŒr dieses Gebiet nach dem Eisenbahnbau gewesen sein.Allein die Ortsbeschreibungen sind auch heute noch interessant, zeigen sie uns doch wie sich die Gegend verĂ€ndert hat. DarĂŒber hinaus hat sich Weyden auch der Geschichte, den Sagen und Legenden der besuchten Orte gewidmet. Diese machen einen besonderen Reiz aus, sind sie doch heute fast vergessen.So ist dieses Buch heute spannender als je zuvor, als Fenster in das Jahr 1865 und darĂŒber hinaus.
