Este libro es producto del proyecto Historias y experiencias de la educación social en Uruguay, que se inscribe en la línea de investigación sobre Prácticas, experiencias y materialidades de la acción educativa del Departamento de Pedagogía Social del Consejo de Formación en Educación.Abordamos la teoría y la práctica educativa de Luis Parodi en su trayectoria de cuarenta años de trabajo en distintos proyectos educativos en instituciones de encierro. Tras muchas horas de entrevista elegimos un conjunto de categorías pedagógicas que él puso en práctica para ponerlas a disposición de las nuevas generaciones de educadoras y educadores.Se realiza un aporte relevante a las prácticas educativas de las instituciones de encierro punitivo y protector porque «con gestos anarquistas» (Frigerio, 2007) en el ámbito de instituciones estatales desobedece los mandatos de época para —de modo reiterativo y de forma obsesiva— jugar en favor de los proyectos de los sujetos de la educación.
