Acción es el nombre correspondiente al verbo hacer, y de ahí nuestra elección frente a otros sustantivos que hegemonizan la nominación de la actividad educativa, sobre todo el de intervención. En esa acción educativa se fundamenta una de las funciones a la que es convocada en la actualidad la profesión de educador social: educar. Frente a los encargos de intervención, de control y de ayuda, este texto pretende reivindicar una mirada posible a las tareas, las acciones y las funciones de los educadores sociales: la pedagogía. Un intento, pues, de introducir lo educativo en el campo social.
