School without Classrooms
Is the impact of learning environment on us greater than we expected?
About this book
School without Classrooms aims to develop the school as a learning environment with efficient spatial diversity. The hypothesis is that the spatial model encourages diversity in learning in addition to supporting the individual learning needs of children at different ages. The project is trying to bring a design alternative to a rigid and static environment of school architecture and to integrate the concept of sustainability into everyday life. Even though, architecture is generally capable of adapting to social, economic and technological developments, during the last decades it is lacking to solve issues related to basic educational needs. The environment shapes our identity, inspires and motivates us to learn, therefore is it important to change the current environment of our schools.
