Pero aún faltaba un episodio determinante: la batalla de Glenshiel, las Termópilas de Escocia. El 10 de junio, 274 soldados españoles se enfrentaron, con las montañas de Kintail como telón de fondo, a un ejército inglés. No estuvieron solos.
