Este libro nace con la pretensiĂłn de mostrar un panorama amplio, aunque por razones obvias incompleto, de la poesĂa escrita por mujeres, fundamentalmente en la cultura occidental que es el contexto en el que nos encontramos. No pretende ser un catĂĄlogo completo ni un repertorio de nombres y fechas puesto que no tiene afĂĄn totalizador ni el deseo de ser un diccionario o una enciclopedia. Tampoco pretende ser un tratado acadĂ©mico. Con toda seguridad faltan nombres que algĂșn lector o lectora echarĂĄ de menos, aunque lo que si encontrarĂĄ es una lĂnea genealĂłgica clara e ininterrumpida que demuestra que las mujeres han tomado la palabra año tras año, siglo tras siglo, para dejarnos a las que venimos detrĂĄs el testimonio de sus voces y de su manera de ver el mundo y la vida. Las que estamos escribiendo poesĂa hoy somos un eslabĂłn mĂĄs de esa cadena de voces poĂ©ticas que desde el pasado se proyectan hacia el futuro y que, con toda seguridad, no se interrumpirĂĄ mientras haya una mujer que tenga a su alcance un trozo de papel y un lĂĄpiz.
