Crude Oil
The reason I have taken this as the first commodity to analyze is that its movement controls the economies of all the countries as well as a lot of industries that most are unaware of its indirect influence on the earnings and, eventually, the stock price.
As said, “Knowledge is power” and “Power is in the barrels.”
And that will remain true as long as the use of oil is significant. Hence, until a complete revolution of renewable sources of energy happens, this fossil fuel will always affect the geopolitical economic events on this planet.
Here, we begin analyzing with OPEC, the official cartel created to manipulate prices. Individually, all countries denounce creation of cartels and syndicate bodies that try to influence monopolistic trade practices in various fields, but where OPEC is concerned, though its activities are internally denounced, yet all try to influence it in their favor.
Where this book is concerned, we will stick to strong fundamental factors as whatever policies OPEC or other strong non-OPEC countries practice for us; our parameters will still lead to points from which decisions to make money are made.
