'All About the Little Small Red Hen' is written and illustrated by Johnny Gruelle. Gruelle (1880 – 1930), was an American artist, children's book illustrator and author who's works have been entertaining children since 1918. Gruelle is best known for his 'Raggedy Ann Series', which chart the adventures of a little doll with red yarn for hair and a triangle nose. Amongst his other works are: All About Little Red Riding Hood (c1895), The Travels of Timmy Toodles (1916) and My Very Own Fairy Stories (1917). Sought after by collectors, this re-printed edition showcases Gruelle's original text, further enhanced by his wonderful colour drawings, in order that the two may be fully appreciated by young and old alike. Pook Press celebrates the great 'Golden Age of Illustration' in children's classics and fairy tales - a period of unparalleled excellence in book illustration. We publish rare and vintage Golden Age illustrated books, in high-quality colour editions, so that the masterful artwork and story-telling can continue to delight once again.
