This book has been developed from the authors research work. The Analysis in this book is predicated on the need to address the challenges of peacekeeping in a way that contributes to the goal of developing indigenous solutions to the security problems in Africa. It focuses on African security regimes and the peace process in Darfur. The objective is to show the extent to which the African Union (AU) mission in Darfur was able to meet its mandate and deal with the problems it encountered in the operational environment.
