Printing Layouts and Reports

INTRODUCTION
In the previous chapter, you learned to set layout for the Activities and Projects windows and also to update the project status according to the progress of the project. You also learned about tracking of projects by creating and maintaining baselines.
In this chapter, you will learn to print layouts and reports for the distribution of project data. This chapter focuses on page settings (such as margins, page orientation, header, and footer settings, and so on), preview layout, and printing. Moreover, you will learn to open standard reports, create new reports, and modify existing reports.

Reports
Reporting is the process of monitoring a project. It helps in communicating the project progress with the team members and the executive management. Generating reports is a useful way for keeping track of important information.
Reports help business managers to take better decisions. It can be presented in two forms: tabular and graphical. The report types will be explained later in this chapter. Firstly, you will learn to create and modify reports and report groups.

Creating Reports
You can create and modify reports in Report Wizard. To open Report Wizard, choose the Reports button from the Directory bar; the Reports window will be displayed. In this window, you can create a report by using the Add button from the Command bar. When you choose this button, Report Wizard with the Create or Modify Report page will be displayed, as shown in Figure 8-1.
