About This Book
Kosovo was part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Most of its population is composed of ethnic Albanians. Their rights have been violated by the Serbs and the violation of their rights culminated in 1999 when Serb military forces killed, raped, destroyed the homes of Albanians and undermined the land of Kosovo. NATO's forces intervened to stop these violations of human rights by bombing Serbia. After the departure of Serb military forces, the forces of KFOR were deployed in Kosovo. Kosovo is now an independent state that is trying to build a democratic state and its main goal is to become a member of EU. It is the right of a country to which for centuries was denied its true identity.
