The Greyhound is the swiftest of the sighthounds, and by the 1920s the roaring racing track had given the ancient coursing hound a spectacular new career. A. Croxton-Smith's Greyhound Racing And Breeding is a hands-on guide to producing and campaigning the track dog.
First published in 1927, it sets out the practical side of the sport, from selecting and rearing promising stock to conditioning, training and running.
A scarce early work on the sport, restored in an affordable modern edition for followers of the Greyhound, the racing enthusiast and the sporting historian.
This edition features:
- Practical guidance on breeding and rearing the racing Greyhound.
- Covers conditioning, training and running for the track.
- Sets out the sport's history and its notable dogs.
- Restored from the original text and illustrations.
