In questo saggio sono messe a confronto le idee di due grandi pensatori, Immanuel Kant e Norberto Bobbio, prendendo in esame principalmente alcuni loro scritti di natura etica e politica. Nel terzo capitolo del libro si affronta il pensiero di Bobbio, che contrappone al concetto kantiano di “pace perpetua” quello di una pace giuridica, e che vede nel cosmopolitismo la base per la costituzione di un patto pacifico tra gli Stati.
