La tesi fondante del lavoro di Bausinger è che la quasi insensata ricerca di risultati compete con una precisa ricerca di esperienze e con l’obiettivo di trovare una forma sensata ai comportamenti umani; in alcuni settori il semplice “mettere la spunta”, ovvero l’orientamento all’esperienza è così evidente, che la categoria esperienza non è più valida.
Questo è vero per diversi settori, dal denaro, allo sport, dallo small talk a twitter, dalla moda all’organizzazione della società.
Gli esempi presenti in questo libro fanno riferimento soprattutto alla Germania, ma le tendenze qui illustrate sono riscontrabili in ogni cultura industrializzata.
I capitoli di questo libro non seguono tutte le diramazioni, ma solo una parte dei settori che costituiscono la nostra cultura e non intendono porsi in maniera sistematica all’interno delle ricerche specifiche sull’esperienza: infatti l’estensione delle ricerche, insieme alle nuove possibilità ed esigenze di pubblicazione hanno portato ad un esaurimento della conoscenza dei singoli settori.
Emerge quindi la necessità di fornire uno sguardo più ampio sulle relazioni e sull’elaborazione degli insiemi.
