As epistemologias quilombolas apresentadas evidenciam as existências múltiplas que lutam por respeito e direitos que deveriam ser básicos. Os textos são fruto da I Jornada Nacional Virtual de Educação Quilombola, evento que foi uma parceria entre a Universidade de Brasília (UnB) e a Coordenação Nacional de Articulação das Comunidades Negras Rurais Quilombolas (CONAQ), sendo o primeiro evento organizado pelo Coletivo Nacional de Educação. A publicação foi viabilizada com o apoio do Instituto Ibirapitanga, por meio de parceria entre o Selo Sueli Carneiro e a Editora Jandaíra.
