About this book

La idea que ha guiado la edición de este libro es que la conmemoración del bicentenario de la Independencia y del centenario de la Revolución Mexicana, debe ampliar el conocimiento sobre estos procesos, y no cultivar una historia de héroes y villanos. Con este objetivo se presenta una serie de trabajos con las temáticas más relevantes de la investigación histórica de Sonora que se ha hecho durante los últimos años acerca de los procesos mencionados. Los trabajos buscan romper cartabones y distanciarse del regionalismo, de la exclusión de los autores que no forman parte de la historia oficialista, y de la repetición de posturas historiográficas sustentadas en lugares comunes. La aportación de conocimiento sobre un territorio de nuestro país —el actual estado de Sonora— no tiene el objetivo de desenterrar curiosidades del pasado local, sino fomentar un diálogo con la comunidad de lectores —especialmente con las nuevas generaciones— a partir de las visiones historiográficas más recientes de México, para que la información y las caracterizaciones sobre la construcción de este espacio compaginen con los temas de debate nacional que la conmemoración de los centenarios ha estimulado.
