¿Por qué hablar de mujeres y prensa? Esta investigación aporta dos contribuciones a la historiografía de Sonora. La primera es que establece elementos que permitirán construir la historia de la prensa y el periodismo en la capital del estado; la segunda es que da visos de la participación femenina en lo público durante un lapso que marcó el proceso de institucionalización en México. Así, el objetivo del trabajo tiene que ver con tres palabras centrales: rescatar, caracterizar e interpretar el discurso femenino en la prensa. La definición del período de estudio (1934-1938) se propuso con base en las fuentes secundarias y de archivo.
